Pets Day

Last Saturday it was our schools pets’ day.
For pets day I was going to have a goat called Earl but he died so I got a lamb called Halo.
In the morning I washed his legs and picked off the pieces of grass stuck on his body and brushed him as well as that. We put the lambs in the trailer and left for school.
When we got there we tied our lamb up by the fence and went to see my friends.
When they called us in I sat by Halo and waited till my turn. Well I didn’t have to wait very long because I was just after Shane and Shane was first to do his leading.
When it was Halo turn at leading he didn’t want to lead and normally he would just walk and walk really well at home.
When it was my turn at calling Halo just ran to me. He did real well in that and that’s because I got a 2nd.
Next was rearing. We all lined up beside the fence and just stood there.
That took along time and then we finally got to do the presentation.
These are our results…

Lambs
Maddy got 2nd leading
Scott got 3rd calling
Caterina got 1st rearing, 3rd leading
Angus got 1st calling, 1st leading, 3rd rearing
Justin got 2nd rearing
Kelly got 2nd calling
And Shane got a participation ribbon

Calves
Roma got 3rd rearing, 1st leading
Connie got 3rd leading
Nina got 2nd leading, 2nd Rearing
Rhys got 1st rearing

Kids
Koren got 1st calling, 1st leading, 2nd rearing
Kristal got 2nd calling, 2nd leading, 1st rearing

After they gave out all the ribbons, we got on to the gala and started spending money. Like on the gumboot throw and the nail drive.
In the nail drive I was 1st equal with Nina so we had to do a nail off. I came 1st for the girls prize and Nina came second.
When the nail off was finished we all went over to the hall to get our exhibit certificates.
They sold the men’s Pavlovas and the winner of that was Loyd Bishop.]
When we got back to the hall, most of the people and animals were gone. We put our lambs in the trailer and dropped them off at home and went to our nana and granddads for afternoon tea.

My Poems

Blue
Blue is the sea god Tangaroa
Blue is the sky in spring
Blue are the pukekos standing in the swamp
Blue are the twinkling stars in the night sky
Blue are the towels swaying on the clothes line.

Excited
I feel excited when its time to play on a hot sunny day
I feel excited when we go on a long hot holiday
I feel excited when we get to go on the zooming roller coaster
I feel excited when I get a cold dripping ice cream
But I don’t feel excited when I take homework home.

Sea
The sea tastes like a big pool of salt
The sea is like a big blue sky
The sea smells like a block of hard salt
The sea feels like a smooth block of butter
The sea sounds like crashing cars on the sea surface

Mountains
Mountains green, white, red
Rumbling, grumbling hot lava
Burning things around

Love spring
Flowers blooming
Flowers swaying in wind
Lovely smelling, bright, colourful
Here’s spring.

Mountains green, white, red
Rumbling, grumbling hot lava
Burning things around
Lava running down steep hills.

Rivers
Rivers blue and green
Water running down steep hills
Warm, cold, sometimes hot
Rocks sit in the deep waters
Sparkling in the sun.

My Garden

In my garden I have 8 plants in my plot. They are… 2 healthy Carnations, 2 strawberry plants that are in good condition, 2 cabbages, one red, one green. A pure green parsley and a soon to be blooming pansy.
The reason I chose 2 carnations is because they have a beautiful flower, 2 strawberries because they grow something very, very delicious. A pansy in there to make my garden colourful, 2 cabbages just to make my tummy full and a parsley to make the soup even more delicious.
How I helped my garden is… I used slug pellets to make the slugs go nowhere near my plants and worms to make my garden even healthier.
And finally what I’m going to do with the plants? Well I’m going to eat the veges and with the flowers I’m going to put them all around the house (inside) so I can annoy the boys because they hate flowers.

Cross Country

Cross Country

Catching up to other
Runners
On the
Slippery
Slidy running course.

Charging for the finish line
Out around the corner
Using all my strength
Now I’m past and
Thirsty too, but still
Ready for next
Year.

Boring Old Docking

In the holidays…

In the holidays we had to do docking 99% of the time, but I real1y did 2% of it. Shane’s the one that did 99% of it.
I really only pick up the tiny lambs and there’s really only 3 tiny ones in each mob unfortunately.
We’ve done about 2,052 lambs all together; well Shane has done that much almost.
Lucky school has started, but we still have to dock half as much after school.
I still have to make excuses to get out of it though and sometimes I get away with it!

YAY!!!!!

Jones Cup

Slips and slides everywhere
Cheering parents on the side line
Jumping for the rebounds every time
Running to the court ready for the next game
Passing the ball to a free person

Hearing whistles blowing softly in the distance
People shouting for the ball hoping they will get it
Bells blasting terrible in your ears
Player slapping there hands on the ball
Team mates doing there team cheers

Hurting your self just around the corner
Boring waiting for the next game
Being let down by your own team mates
Sweating people everywhere
Exhausted kids going home

Palmerston Nth Trip

During the holidays me, Mum and Scott went down to Palmerston North to get a heading dog.
We went in the Ute and when we were like 20 minutes from Wanganiu it was starting to go ‘’Put, Put, Put, Bang!!!’’ a lot of times, then it broke down.
Mum tired to ring AA on my sell phone but it didn’t have any reception, so lucky we broke down by someone’s drive way.
Mum rang AA and then we went down to the Ute so the AA person could see us.
We were waiting there for about half an hour, until he came.
To fix it he made the Ute back fire a lot of times to clear the engine and then it worked like a charm. It was starting to get dark so we stopped in Wanganui.
Web wanted to stay at a motel with a heated swimming pool and there was only one motel with one and that was called the ‘’Oasis Motel’’.
When we found our room me and Scott got straight in our togs and jumped in the pool
Man it was nice!!! It was all steamy, Mum loved it.
We didn’t want to hop out but we had to because we were real hungry.
For tea we went to Breakers. I had a chicken burger, Scott had chips and mini hot dogs and Mum had fish.
At that time it was 8:30 and we were begging to go for a swim. And finally we got Mum in to it and went for a swim.
We swam for one hour and that time we were all shrivelled up like an old granny.
We each had a shower and went to bed.

The next morning we were up bright and early. The Ute went fine when we went to go get our breakfast at the bakery and then we went to Mitre 10 Mega to get a padlock for the kennel on the back of the Ute
We got back on the road to go to Palmerston North. We were driving for about an hour or 2.
We had to find the air port because the man with the dog was there waiting for us. The next mission was trying to find him.
We finally found him and Mum went to see the dog and before she went she told us ‘If you want to come and see the dog you have to lock all the doors’.
So we went outside to see the dog and as she said lock all the doors we locked the doors, but after we did all that staff and stepped outside and shut the doors, Mum noticed that the keys were sitting in the front seat of the Ute.
Mum rang AA again and went into the airport. She went around seeing if any of the staff new how to open a Ute without a key.
Then finally she found somebody from the rental car company.
Mum took him to the Ute and he found some white strip of tap and put it though a gap and tried to get it around the unlock knob thing. He got it on and tighten the tap up and pulled the knob up and unlocked the Ute!!!
We got the dog called lace and put her in the little doggy kennel on the deck
After that we went to go and see Rebecca play netball for the Wellington team in the NPC, in the Manawatu stadium.
` She got to play the last quarter and she had got 10/10 for her goal shooting.
After that we all got together and said good bye me, Scott, Mum, Philippa, Sous and Nana, went out for lunch at the Plaza.
We finished our lunch and went shopping.
I got a hair cut at ‘’just cuts’’. So did Mum.
We spent a couple of hours there and then we all went back to watch Rebecca play her second game.
We got there to watch the game, when Rebecca didn’t even get to go on the court.
We all said good bye and then me, Scott and Mum started to drive home.
We stopped in Wanganui to have some tea at Burger King.
We carried on driving and when Mum was just about to say ‘’It’s working like a charm’’ it didn’t work like a charm.
At that time it was 10:30 and me and Scott were getting tied, but lucky we bought heaps of pillows.
Me and Scott went to sleep for a couple of hours and there was a point where we nearly just completely broke down.
So Mum made a decision that we were going to stay at Mums, Mums place in Stratford. Because there was no way that we would get up the Strathmore Saddle.
Poppa took Lace for a walk and me and Scott jumped in to bed because we were real tired.
We woke up the next morning and Mum took the Ute to be fixed at the garage and after that we finally went home.
